Photos of Citadel cadets in white hoods lead to suspension

This is one of those stories on your Facebook feed that you hope is a spoof because no college student could be this foolish. But apparently not just one, but seven to eight cadets at the Citadel in Charleston were foolish enough to don white cut-out pillowcases suggestive of Klan hoods and pose for group photos that found their way to  social media. And to the college president who was disturbed and angered.

According to the Charleston Post and Courier: (This is a great story; please read it before commenting.)

At least eight Citadel cadets have been suspended after photos of them appeared on social media wearing costumes resembling Ku Klux Klan hoods. The school’s president, retired Lt. Gen. John Rosa, called the images “offensive and disturbing.” It shows an upper-class cadet in front of seven cadets wearing all white clothing and with pillowcases over their heads. Eyeholes had been cut out and one corner of the pillowcases were drawn up to form a point.

In  a statement released to media, Rosa said, “A social media posting, which I find offensive and disturbing, was brought to my attention this morning. It shows an upper class cadet in front of seven cadets with pillowcases over their heads. In accordance with college policy, we immediately began suspension proceedings for those cadets known to be involved, and we are continuing to investigate this incident. Preliminary reports are cadets were singing Christmas carols as part of a ‘Ghosts of Christmas Past’ skit. These images are not consistent with our core values of honor, duty and respect. We will provide more information upon completion of the investigation.”

There are other relevant details that suggest this wasn't just a hazing prank. It happened across town in Charleston from the black church where the 9 parishioners were massacred. Also, the Citadel chapel flies a Confederate flag, which some are now asking be removed. This was part of a larger context of hate.

So, these cadets were doing a skit on "ghosts of Christmas past". Tell me, just how do you make a ghost costume? Oh yeah, that's right, you take a white sheet or pillowcase, cut a couple of eyeholes out, and drape it over your head. There is nothing to suggest this was anything more than just that.

But, the truth will never be good enough for the black race baiter a and the politically correct. As far as Hillary, anything to take the focus off her incompetence and possible criminal activities while SOS.

Finally, this has nothing to do with the lunatic who killed the nine church members, other than they happen to be in the same geographic area.

@Lee_CPA2

A little white-washing here, as usual for you, of anything done by those dressed up as Klansmen.

This is so funny. The politically correct try so hard to find examples of "white racism", but all they can manage are a few random fraternities or in this case, what appears to be a hazing event. Meanwhile, blacks are running around burning down neighborhoods, physically assaulting folks, and complaining about college professors "counting off for grammar".

Bunch of cadets standing with pillow cases on their heads, appear to be reading/singing something from the paper held in front of them, older guy (upperclassman ?) laughing his a** off.  You do the math.

This is the most terrible thing to happen since the Civil War not with standing the case of fagulation suffered by President Obama when he was elected

How convenient it is to endlessly harvest clownish things done as proof of "white racism."

So as to never have to discuss the abandonment of black children (72%) by their black fathers. Or black-on-black violence plaguing inner cities. Or the blatant misogyny of so many popular hip-hop lyrics.

And YOUR statistic on the black illegitimacy rate would be ...(?)

@Bitcoined

I refuse to make this about black America and allowing you to attack the African American race...

@OriginalProf @Bitcoined Or, from the description, merely insensitive college students (know many who aren't?) who may well have been making fun of South Carolina's past (Ghosts of Christmas Past).

@Bitcoined

But those things have nothing to do with white racism, or in this case, white racism in a military school where the graduates will presumably be serving in our diverse military.

@Bitcoined

What is really convenient is for people like you to NEVER hold individuals like this accountable. When things like this happen the first thing you blog about are your TRUMPed(see what I did here) statics of black America. This story is not about that and yet you go off topic to take light off of the subject and you google statics that are obviously wrong. Just once I would like for people like you to hold people like this accountable for their actions and stop the nonsese of attacking black America.

Ask for another hand, the cards you play are no good anymore!

@Bitcoined 72% of black fathers may not be married to the mother of their children, but it doesn't mean they are absent. Working in APS, I have found many more are involved than you think. They come to the school, participate in activities, and love their children. Those stories will never be told because there is absolutely NO data that suggests anything positive about black people that has been published by whites. SMH!
